2009 J & E Performance Quick 8

.400 Pro Tree Heads UP Racing (NO IMPORTS)

Auto Start set at 10 second time out and active at qualifying and eliminations.

ENGINE:

1a. NaturallyAspirated:

a.       Small Block 2400 lbs

b.      Big Block 2600 lbs

1b. NitrousOxide:

a.       Small Block 2600 lbs

b.      Big Block 2900 lbs

1c.   Turbocharged and Supercharged:

i.   Single Turbo Small Block 2800 lbs

ii. Single Turbo Big Block 2900 lbs

iii.Twin Turbo Small Block 3000 lbs

iiii. Twin Turbo Big Block 3100 lbs

v. Centrifugally Supercharged 3000 lbs

vi. Roots Blower 3000 lbs. & Whipple Blower 3100 lbs

Single power adder- supercharged, nitrous oxide, or turbocharged engine combinations are permitted

NOS PERMITTED- Nitrous oxide may not be used in conjunction with any other power adder

BODY:

2a.   must be Street appearing. The body must retain its original appearance and profiles. No radical reshaping allowed. Aftermarket lightweight replacement panels are limited to the hood, fenders, hood scoop, hatch, doors and bumpers.

2b. one piece front end is acceptable, but must be finished to retain a factory look. (Allowances will be made for turbo/blower placement). 

Hood must  be able to separate from front end.

Blocking grille from behind permitted.

2c.   Back Half Type Cars Only, All cars must have Mufflers and inserts are NOT considered mufflers

2d.  Front Frame Stock front frame rails mandatory

Direct Bolt in aftermarket parts permitted (I.e. Front suspension).

2f.      Firewall must be in the stock location.

See NHRA rule 7:4 FIREWALLS

I.        2005 and older race cars- If firewall is relocated ADD 50.lbs

II.     Relocated fire walls from 2006 and newer race cars prohibited

2g.   Front Suspension, FWD Conversion - Aftermarket front suspension of stock type permitted. Fabricated cross member may be installed. Coil over shocks permitted required Front-wheel-drive conversions are permitted provided stock firewall and stock-type front suspension is retained.  In the interest of safety the front suspension may be altered but remain in stock position in order to stay within class rules.

2i.     Minimum ground clearance of 3 inches from the front of the nose to 12 inches behind centerline of the front axle.

TIRES: Maximum tire 10.5 inches (Acceptable sizes include those stamped 31x10.5W, 33x10.5W, 29x10.5, or smaller)

TRANSMISSION: Automatic Transmission

                                                               i.      Any OEM/Aftermarket automatic transmission (Bruno etc) acceptable.

                                                             ii.      Clutch cars add two hundred lbs.

ELECTRONICS: No delay boxes, stutter boxes, etc.

Per NHRA Rule/s, 8:2 Delay box, 8:7 Switches & Buttons. 9:1 Computer.  The Nitrous controller is permitted

FUEL:

3a                 Race Fuel Only

3b                Alcohol permitted on NON Intercooled cars only.

WEIGHT: Maximum weight in class 3200 lbs (see NHRA Rulebook under chassis certification/s)

QUALIFYING:

4a     NHRA Pro Ladder charts.  Qualifying elapsed times determines ladder positions, based on 8 car qualified ladder. Example-: 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5

4b    QUALIFYING TIME RUNS order is based on the current points standings.  Two qualifying sessions only. Example; If you are currently number one in points you will go out last in the first qualifying session, once you make the first qualifying session the run order will be based on the current qualifying standings.

4c     Cars that are not listed on current point standings goes out first in session.

4d    Pairings- The object is to alternate lanes with the run card that is issued and to have a pair of cars attempt to go down track at all times.  Single runs are not an option unless previously discussed with race director.

4e     Minimum Time to qualify is 7.99 seconds and quicker

TOWING: Will be allowed, crew will randomly be selected to stop at scales before going to top end to pick up your car.

SCALES: All cars must stop at scales after rounds.  If you do not stop your run will be void.

STAGING:

When both pre-staged are activated, either side stage light will start a 10-second stage count. Failure to activate stage bulb within 10 seconds will result in disqualification. (Starter  decisions  will be final). Disqualification will be based on a first or worse situation.

All rules finalized by the race director.

Credentials:

Only (3) Three crew members permitted on starting line and they must have a HARD CARD in order to enter the wall area.  Once the vehicle has gone down the track all crew members must exit the wall area and go to grandstands to view remaining cars racing.

Penalty- If crew member/s does not abide by this rule DRIVER will be disqualified and stripped of all points for the event.

Race completion:

In the event the race cannot be completed on day of scheduled event.  The round would have to be the final round.  The director and drivers would agree for the completion of race for a future date.  All parties must agree and be present for the future date.  If a racer/s is a NO SHOW the racer who showed will be awarded winner points and NO SHOW the runner up points.  Racer must go down track and take tree in order to be a winner.  Qualifying points in the event of a rain out will be awarded only if (2) Two rounds of qualifying are completed.

POINTS:

All RACERS MUST RUN SPONSOR DECAL, IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR FULL PURSE PAYOUT AND YEAR END BONUS MONEY (If driver elects not to run decal they will forfeit half of the winnings at each race and collect NO Points).

All points payout are paid to the Top Eight Racers.  The first tie breaker would be races won.  Payout for the points winners is at the annual racers banquet TBA.  A Qualifying Quick 8 car and driver will not be eligible to race in the in the Index classes unless he has
an additional car for the Index class.

YOU MUST MEET ALL CURRENT NHRA AND NJ STATE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

IF you are caught cheating you will

be banned and NHRA will be notified

 (NHRA and VALID STATE DRIVERS LICENSE along with CHASSIS Certification)

Note: No car will be allowed to go faster than the Chassis is certified for by NHRA.

RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE ANYTIME BEFORE OR

DURING EVENT/S TO KEEP THE QUICK 8 CLASS COMPETITIVE.

RACE DIRECTOR HAS ALL FINAL DECSIONS
